Kris Spitz and Dennis Spitz

May 21, 2013

Well to bring you up to date, we have only raced 2 times this spring.  The weather has been wet to say the least.  Both nights we have raced has been at Beaver Dam Raceway.  Both nights finishes were not as well as we had hoped.  Dennis did get a heat race win but tire pressure issues put him on the infield before the feature was over.

The team will be traveling to Wilmot and 141 Speedway this weekend if the weather holds out.  You will see a new power plant in Kris’ car so it should be a good weekend.  See you there.

Feb.16, 2013

A new schedule has just been posted to include 3 WoO dates in June.  It will be quite the weekend.  Things are moving along so the team will be ready for the opener in April.  Trying to find “partners” for this season is proving to be challenging.  If you have a business or know of one that would like to come on board this year, send them a note with our e-mail address so we can connect and try to come up with a deal.  The team would appreciate the help.

Jan 28, 2013

The season is fast approaching and the KDS Racing Team is well on it’s way getting ready for battle on the area race tracks.  All the team members have been working hard improving equipment and learning new methods.

We are in our sponsorship drive time right now so if anyone is interested and wants to become a partner, by all means give us a call anytime.  \The new schedule has been posted for the season but there maybe some additions so take a look at it often.

Oct 3, 2012

The season has ended and man did we have a bad night.  The 41 broke a rear end while running down the long, fast back stretch.  Was able to keep it up right but it tore up a lot of stuff.  Kris had a engine problem that was slowing down the motor so he shut it off before it exploded.  So we were done.  Kris finished the season in 7th place in the points for both the IRA and Wilmot Raceway.  Dennis finished 14th in IRA and 11th at Wilmot.

We want to take a minuet to thank all our fine partners who, with out their help, we would not be able to enjoy the sport that we all love.  Please support the people who support racing so we can continue to bring some of the best entertainment money can buy.

See you next year.

Sept 24, 2012

The team had an “ok” night. Both cars made the A by coming through the B.  Track was a little tricky for us but Kris was finally able to make some gains by feature time.

The last night of the season is next week, so if you haven’t seen us yet, come on up to Dodge County this Saturday.  See you there.

Sept 17, 2012

The team had a fair night at Plymouth this past week. Kris finished his heat in second place and Dennis finished 4th in his.  The A main was a pretty slick surface and neither car was able to advance much.  But we finished with no damage and will get ready for Beaver Dam next week.  See you there.

Sept 10, 2012

It was a cool but nice weekend for the team in northern Wisconsin.  The Amsoil Speedway in Superior  WI was a bit rough but it was a pretty fast track after everything got going.  Was a very late night and we had to get going so we could get to Cedar Lake the next night.

The race at Cedar Lake was a great showing of our regular drivers against some of the best in the region.  The track was narrow at first but the track crew kept working at it and by the A feature, it was a fast wide racing surface.  Kris won the B main and transferred to the A where he finished 12th.  Dennis finished 11 in the B.

Sept 5, 2012

The team went up to Plymouth Speedway for some Friday night racing and to enjoy the Sheboygan County Fair.  Kris finished  15th in the A and Dennis finished 10th in the B.  Then we were off to Wilmot Speedway for Saturday but the rains came and canceled the show.  When Sunday rolled around for the big show at 141 Speedway, Dennis found some motor damage that prevented him from running.  Kris was having a good night and was moving to the front when he got tangled up in a crash on the checkered flag lap.  Very frustrating.

The team is set to run Superior and Cedar Lake this weekend.  See you there.

Aug 29, 2012

Oshkosh was a horse power track all night long.  Kris and Dennis had over heating issues that didn’t help with the rest of the issues.  Kris finished 4th in his heat so he transferred into the A and after a red flag pause for 1M’s flip, he raced to a 7th place finish.  Dennis pulled out fairly early because of handling problems.

We went on to Wilmot and had a fairly good night.  Dennis won his heat race and finished 7th in the main.  Kris was running real strong but got spun and had to start from the rear but managed to get back to 11th.

We are off to Plymouth on Friday, then Wilmot again on Saturday, then to complete the weekend, 141 Speedway on Sunday.

Hope to see you there.

Aug 22, 2012

What a weekend.  The team ran three shows this weekend and had some ups and downs.  First Friday night at Wilmot Raceway.  Kris finished the A in second place.  A great run.  Dennis won the B and was on his way to a good finish in the A when he got taken out by the car leading the race.  Tore up a bunch of stuff when the car flipped over.

Saturday night we were again at the Wilmot Raceway for the Kenosha County Fair IRA Sprint, Roger Illes Memorial Show.  Kris raced his way into the A but was taken out by the same driver that took Dennis out the night before.  This time the teams had some words.  The next night, Sunday, the team was off to LaSalle IL for the Billy Waite Memorial.  Kris made it to the A while Dennis only ran the B.

This coming weekend, the team will be at Oshkosh and Wilmot again.  Come on out and see us.

Aug 15, 2012

Well with the rain out of Beaver Dam and the following weekend off, the team is ready to attack our first three day weekend.  We will run Wilmot Friday and Saturday for the Kenosha county fair weekend and then we are off to LaSalle, IL on Sunday.  We have rebuilt some stuff and done some extensive maintenance.  Zach will be here on Thursday to get all the tires and rims ready for three days of racing.  Come see us and stop by and say hello after the races.

Aug 1, 2012

Well the team has been busy.  Kris ran 2 WoO shows 2 weeks ago and we have been running ever since.  We ran Dodge County, Wilmot with the All-Stars then on to St. Croix WI and Ashland WI.  The WoO shows we didn’t do very good at and the Dodge show,  Kris had a engine problem and had to pull out of a very good finish.  Now the last 2 nights the team did really well.  Kris won his heat and finished 6th both nights.  His car was looking great and passing some really fast cars.  Dennis did good both nights too.  He was passing cars and  finished  11th and 12th.

This week we will be at Beaver Dam, WI so come on out to see us.

July 16, 2012

The IRA ran the first sprint car show ever at the Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain city, WI.  The facility was excellent and the fans were treated to a fantastic show.  Kris was running in the top ten but lost several positions when his tires started going away.  He finished 14th and Dennis finished 15.

Saturday we moved on to Rice Lake Speedway and another great show was presented.  Kris finished 14th again and Dennis finished 20th.

Next week, the team will be at the Dodge County Fairgrounds on Friday and then to Wilmot on Saturday.

July 9, 2012

The team was really put to the test this past week-end.  Cedar Lake was crazy fast when usually it slicks off.  We drew an early qualifying spot but couldn’t capitalize on it.  Then the track slicked and we were not ready for it.

We went on to Beaver Dam on Saturday and thought our problems were behind us.

Kris got tangled up with another car and flipped.  We got him ready for the B, then  the new engine developed a water leak into the oil.  We ran it anyways and almost made the A but not quite.  The World of Outlaws are a tough group.  Next week is 2 days of racing , so check our schedule and come see us.  Both cars will be running this weekend.

July 2, 2012

Kris had another good night by finishing his heat in 3rd place.  He had a 10th place finish in the A and that moved him up in the point standings to 6th place.

Dennis was running the B in a transfer spot when a freak oil pressure gauge failure covered him in oil and he had to withdraw with a few laps remaining.

Next week the IRA is off but Kris plans on running 2 WoO shows.

June 24, 2012

The track was slick but smooth and Kris finished 5th in his heat that transferred him directly into the A.  He was running a strong 6th place when a yellow came out, bunching up the field.  Kris’ rear tire lost some air during pause and he lost some spots on the restart and finished 11th.  Still a good run.

Dennis had to run the B but did transfer to the A where he finished 17th.

June 18, 2012

The newly installed engine ran real well for Kris and carried him to a second place finish in his heat that transferred him directly to the A were he finished a solid 12th for the evening.  Dennis finished 11th in the B which completed his evening.

June 10, 2012

Kris ran a real good heat race and transferred to the A from his heat.  The A was tough because of track conditions and was only able to bring home a 14th place.

Dennis missed the A by one spot in his heat and had to run the B.  He was moving through the field and had secured a transfer spot but got tangled up with another car and was retired to the pits.  He was very frustrated.

The team heads to Beaver Dam next week.  See you there.

June 4, 2012

1100 miles later and we are back home.  What a huge weekend  the team had as we made the swing to Jackson, MN, to Cedar Lake, WI and then onto Eagle Valley Speedway in Jim Falls ,WI.  Both cars made the A mains all three nights.  The 4k is getting better every time out.  Crew chief Mike is really working hard to get the performance out of both cars.  The 4k car did have a miss hap in the feature at Cedar Lake but over all the weekend was good.  Next stop, Wilmot Raceway next Saturday night.

May 29, 2012

Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend.  A perfect day to say thanks to all the men and women in uniform both past and present.

Let me bring you up to speed on the teams weekend.  Our first stop was Wilmot Raceway.  Kris qualified 9th quick and transferred to the A-main though his heat race.  He finished 10th for the night.  Very good showing for the super fast track conditions.

Dennis clipped a tire barrier during his heat and flipped the car.  The crew did a great job replacing all the damage by replacing the rear end and the top wing.  He went out for the B-main and finished 11th.

Next it was on to 141 Speedway.  Kris got caught up in a crash in his heat and had to take his car to the pits for repairs.  The crew got him out for the B-main and was on his way to a transfer spot for the A when a late contact with another racer and a yellow flag allowed his damaged right rear tire to go flat and he had to retire to the pits.

Dennis ran his heat and transferred to the B where he finished 14th after pulling into the pits early.

The team will hit 3 tracks next week.  See you there.

May 22,2012

Sorry about the slow update.  Had a busy day yesterday at the Badger High School in Lake Geneva.  I took the 41 car to Zack’s high school for their automotive program.  The students had a good time and so did I explaining the aspects of sprint car racing on dirt.

The Beaver Dam results from Saturday night were good for the 4k car.  Kris made the main from his heat race and he qualified 10th fastest.  He finished the main in 13th place.

Dennis was not able to qualify for the main.  He finished the B-main in 8th place.

It will be the Al and Marie Winker / Wayne Dawn Memorial race at the Wilmot Raceway this Saturday and then 141 Speedway on Sunday night.  See you there.

May 16,2012

KDS Racing wants to welcome Advanced Foot & Ankle to our team for the 2012 racing season.  Dr. Michael Kokat’s office is located at 733 N. Pine Street in Burlington, WI.  If you have a need for a great podiatrist, see our new partner at Advanced Foot & Ankle.

May 13,2012

Kris had a very good night at the Wilmot Raceway coming home 10th in the A-main of the IRA Sprint show.  His car looked really strong amongst a very talented field.  Dennis is steadily getting faster but tonight he didn’t make the transfer from the B-main.  They will compete at the Beaver Dam Raceway next Saturday Night.

May 7,2012

The team had an overall good night after a slow start.  Kris was able to transfer to the A-main right from his heat with a car not quite to his liking on a very fast race surface.  Dennis had to go to the B-main as his set-up was not to his liking.  Mike and Zack went to work on the 41 and Dennis was able to transfer to the A.

The A got a couple of rough starts and the 41 lost air on the left rear during a red flag but the team got him going again before the green was dropped.  He had to start on the tail.

The track was still extremely fast from a heavy misty fog.  Kris finished 10th and Dennis 13th.

The team looks forward to next week with the IRA Sprints invading the Wilmot Raceway.

May 3, 2012

The KDS Racing Team is excited about competing at the track that they grew up on, the Wilmot Raceway.  Dennis has not raced there for over 8 years and is super excited about coming home to his favorite track.  The team is hoping for a good turnout of fans and local sponsors.   Come on out and lets have some fun.

April 27, 2012

April 23, 2012

Well, was quite a night for the team.  Kris was involved in two wrecks, the second one took him out of the A-Main.

Dennis got collected in the B-Main that bent the rear axle tube putting him out for the night.

It was cold and just not a good night so we will collect ourselves and get ready for Beaver Dam next weekend.  See you there.

April 2, 2012

Kris went to Attica, Ohio just to sort out any bugs in the car.  He finished 2nd in his heat and transferred to the A.  Started the A in 9th position but on the first lap, a 4 car wreck caused his car to get hit from the rear.  Didn’t think there was any damage but on the restart, car was not handling correctly so he pulled it in.  He was happy with the way the car ran so it made it a worth while trip.  He will wait for the IRA season opener at 141 Speedway on April 21.

Mar 26, 2012

The season is fast approaching and the team is ready to go.  In fact, Kris is traveling to Attica, Ohio Fri, Mar30 for a single day show to work out the winter stiffness.  The following week-end , he may return to Attica for a 2 day All-Star Sprint show.  The weather has been getting better and hopefully the rains stay out of the forecast.  Dennis will be traveling to Salem soon to join the team for all the last minuet preparations

A tentative schedule has been released from the IRA and Wilmot Raceway.  KDS Racing has posted our schedule based on what we know right now.  There are a few dates that may change so please watch for any changes that may effect your plans.  KDS Racing hopes to see you at as many venues this season as weather permits.

Dec 27, 2011

KDS Racing hopes everyone had a great Christmas and will have a very happy New Year.  Be safe and have fun.

The team has taken some time off for the holidays but plans to get back at it right after the first of the year.  We have seen some of the preliminary dates for races next year and it looks like Steve and the rest of the IRA board is hard at it to bring another great year of racing to the fans of the mid-west region.

Our plans are to run all the IRA shows and a select number of non-sanctioned shows.  We will post our schedule as soon as we can, probably about mid March.

If anyone knows of persons or businesses that would like to partner up with KDS Racing, have them send me an e-mail (dspitz@logantele.com) so we can set up a date to talk about terms.  We have plenty of available space still for 2012.

The "Friends of Racing" campaign is still active.  If you have a family member or friend that would enjoy seeing their name on a race car, send us $2 and we will get their name on the car and an e-mailed picture sent to you (about April/May) .  You can contact me at dspitz@logantele.com.

Oct 31, 2011

KDS Racing is looking for some tires for the team.  Goodyear's for the rears and fronts are what's needed.  Give us a call if you have something.

Dennis is getting ready for the coming season.  He will be driving the 41 car and hopes all his friends come out and enjoy some good racing.  He intended to run last year but an injury forced him to sit out the entire year.  He is working on body condition and is anxious for the season to start.

The "Friends of Racing" campaign is still active.  If you have a family member or friend that would enjoy seeing their name on a race car, send us $2 and we will get their name on the car and an e-mailed picture sent to you (about April/May) .  You can contact me at dspitz@logantele.com.

Oct 4, 2011

Dodge county was another tough night for KDS Racing.  All the rain the prior week let the track very heavy and narrow for the beginning of the evening.  The track was super fast all night long.  Kris missed the transfer to the main in his heat but was able to make it thru the B-main.  He finished 19th in the A-main after starting from the rear.  Our set-ups for this track are still not good but we continue to try.

Kris finished 14th in points over all and has a 100% participation level.  This is a credit to his crew who work hard to give him what he needs race the best he can.

After season festivities will begin in Nov with the awards banquet.  Hope to see some of you there.

Sept 29, 2011

Another rain out that just puts the damper on the season.  We go to Dodge County this week-end for the final night of the IRA season.  The forecast is looking good but the temperatures may run a little cooler than we like, so wear your heavy stuff and join us for the end of the season.

Sept 8, 2011

Well this past weekend was a bust.  Friday at Dodge county was eventually rained out after towing there and all the work to try to get the track ready for races.  Many people were disappointed.

Then it was onward to Plymouth for the fair date.  Well rain was misting all afternoon and into the evening.  We finally got the show in but it was always a threat of rain.  Kris did not have a good night as he finished the night in the B main.

Sunday was supposes to be the night when the weather was forecast to be great.  Well it rained out just after the cars packed in the track after a late shower.

This week-end we are off to Superior on Friday night and Cedar Lake on Saturday.  Maybe the weather will cooperate.

Aug 29, 2011

Sorry for the absence, a medical problem has kept me occupied until now.  Still only running about 60% but that is a vast improvement.

Kris ran a very impressive 2nd place at Wilmot Saturday night.  It was one of his best runs this year at this Raceway.  The new car has been a learning experience.  He struggled at first but has improved dramatically here recently.  He made the investment in a set of super shox shocks and he is very excided about how they feel.  This weekend is three days at three different tracks so we will be busy.  Stop by the trailer after the races and say hi if you have the chance.

May 20, 2011

Mother nature caused another cancelation for KDS Racing.  The scheduled event for May 20 at Mississippi Thunder was canceled due to a strong weather system coming in.

The Cedar Lake event for Saturday is still  a go.

May 16, 2011

Mother nature caused another cancelation for KDS Racing.  The scheduled event for May 14 at the Wilmot Raceway was washed out when rain came early Saturday and the cold winds came racing down from the north.  Man it was cold.

The team will be heading out for a two day weekend early Friday.  First up is Mississippi Thunder for their inaugural 410 sprint event and then it's on to Cedar Lake Speedway Saturday for a $3000 to win event.  We hope the weather holds and we can really get to racing.

May 7, 2011

Kris and the team ventured to the famed Knoxville Raceway in beautiful downtown Knoxville Iowa.  The IRA has visited this venue for many consecutive years and this trip continues the tradition.

Kris has struggled with this facility but has made steady progress and this trip was no exception.  We set the car up with last years set-ups and made improvements every time he came in.  Next year we feel really good about as he became very comfortable in the car with our last adjustments.

The team moves on to Wilmot this next week for a WoS event.  Kris and his dad should be ready to go.  Kris’ new car should be completed by the end of the week and his dad should be able to move back into the #41.

May 3, 2011

We would like to send a special Thank You out to our new sponsors for 2011. Just this past week, all the way from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Sakura Sushi & Grill has become an associate sponsor.  If visiting that part of the country, please stop by and enjoy a delicious meal.  Also new this year from Indiana, is Fatheadz Eyewear and Framework Marketing Group Certified Wraps.

Returning for another season out of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Chutes & Ladders Pub, Don’s Auto & Machine Shop, and Merlin 200,000 Mile Shops.  And last but not least our major partner, Lucas Oil Products. Try Lucas Oil Products where ever you are, you will not be disappointed.

May 2, 2011

The start of the race season was rough for the two car Spitz Racing Team.  After rushing Saturday to finish Dennis’ 41 car they arrived at Beaver Dam Raceway just before the drivers meeting.

Kris qualified with a 13.199 and Dennis qualified with 14.404.  Starting last in the first heat race, Dennis avoided a wreck and finished 6th to run in the B main.  In a packed heat race, Kris started on the front row and finished 5th to make it into the A main.  Starting 10th in the B main, Dennis was only able to advance one position to finish ninth.  Kris started 13th in the A main and after several laps hit a rut coming out of turn 2 and flipped the car off the wall ending his night.  Currently, Kris is 20th in the point standings with a 91 and Dennis is in 24th with 76 points.

It will be a busy week preparing the 4K for Knoxville Raceway on May 7th, Dennis will be taking the weekend off.
